Here I Am

I have recently embarked into greener pastures after a total of some 10 grueling years working with a Hongkie tyrant. It was a blessed opportunity that he managed to bring the entire brood to tour inside Hong Kong's TVB studios at Clearwater Bay and watch the real movie makings in action. Thanks to him for all the connections he had, including a Chinese Godfather residing in Long Island, NY.

I have been keeping tight lipped about my career's advancement until I heard a fresh rumour today from a reporter from Chinese-Press. He heard that I have teamed up with a bitch to set up our own firm. Oh no, I better post into this blog some truths before the twisted news get mangled further.

Well, I have several bosses today in this fleet of companies where 2 of them have to be addressed as YBs. It has been a real eye opener for me with their style of work and pace. New paths are mapped out and fresh venues are graced. Prior to this, I never had meetings at flight departure lounges, inside moving cars and even at the parliament's cafeteria. I have also been selling houses in between the cracks of my teeth to survive. That's how tough life could be.

Boss buzzed me on my intercom and invited me for a joy ride.

"What Joyride?" I gasped.

He ordered a car from N A Z A! My heart sank through the floor and there goes Bye-Bye to my bonus next year! I heard this model costs him around RM200K. Crazy!

It was so damn shiok to sit right behind this spacious monster, resting my long legs wide apart listening to the home theatre system's music. Boss sped off at the steering with his bodyguard behind and his 2nd wife in tow.
I was dreaming about the day I could buy that car. No I won't buy this monster, I would rather travel the whole world instead.

Now we have to decide the 2 digit number plate which will cost another bidding price at RM20K to RM30K! Why are some humans throwing money like that?

  1. Rich people don't see that as throwing money. They see it as an entertainment that can be bought with money to make them feel happy and without it, they would feel life has no meaning if they cannot spend money the way they want.

  3. Quick quick let me know what is the 2 digits car plate... I want to buy 3D and 4D...

  4. Sometimes it's just to reduce the taxable income because company expenses can be exempted. But it seems like the money earned is way too much more than money taxed.

  5. the only time i pay more to choose my desired digit is at Telekom..
paying extra RM10 to pick my phone number... LOL

  6. CJ - Good to see you here again! Rich people also take great pains to find the money just to show off and their need to keep up with the Joneses. Those who are humble and not showy will do charity silently.

Takashi - I think when you are filthy rich, you won't splurge on number plates but rather open more saunas!

TZ - How to buy 3D and 4D with 2 digit? That means you are not a gambler but gym goodie. LOL

Legolas - That's horrible to pay less tax for bidding the number plate!!! They should give staff more benefits.

Danny - You should pay RM200 next time to get even prettier numbers. You need image branding so that aunties never look down on you again. :)

  9. Many times in this country, we may 'think' that people are rich when they are really NOT... They are so far in debt that it is ridiculous!!!!! They just live above their means.

Most people who really make and have money are ones who are basically conservative when it comes to spending. They may give alot of this money away to the needy ---and they don't want any 'credit' for doing it... Those are the RICH to me---RiCH in SPIRIT....

  13. Anyway beauty is in the eyes of the steering holder haha. Well to the super rich RM20k-RM30k to bid a two digit number is wet wet the water (peanuts to them). But to the poor they could use the money to buy a second hand car instead...

  14. William - Sadly nearly all the 'rich' guys I know are struggling to stay afloat and look good. Their debts continue to escalate.

poorprince - I also wish to be rich. I suggest you change your name to Richprince and luck will come!!!!

Betsy From Tennessee - I agree with what you just said coz I saw many showy Americans who bought everything on credit including their weddings! LOL. That is pretty unhealthy and the country's economy will be hurting everyone when it bursts. Scary!

  15. wenn - Yeah they love to show off like celebrities.

Moks - What did you just say in Tagalog?????? Heee heee heee!

Bananaz@ - That was exactly how I calculated! Buy a car for myself. I don't feel good with such people as they often bragged too big as if money could buy everything. You will faint if I tell you what my bosses farted loudly. LOL

  16. the rich men's debt are too big for them to fail. banks will ensure that these rich men are constantly assisted so that the non performing loan ratio do not increase

  17. Throwing money on swanky cars is no big deal to filthy rich people. even if i've that kind of money, i'd rather save and splurge on traveling or something a lot more worthy.

  18. no doubt the car is cool but i can't imagine how much it would cost one to fill up the gas tank. Every time the petrol price goes up we hear endless moaning about how much it costs drivers.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Johnny - What you just said is so true and wisely logic. Sigh! How come I never thought of that?

Life Ramblings - I definitely share your opinion! That car really drinks petrol and the maintenance is so costly. He would not spend on us!

  27. Initially I thought he bought for you -_-" Too early to dream no? LOL.

I just don't understand why people want to spend that way. :( Perhaps I'm too prudent to understand this.

    ReplyDelete
  28. They have the resources to indulge! Well, up to them to decide if it's worthwhile to spend the money.

    ReplyDelete
  29. For the rich, I guess they are just pampering themself "a little" with such indulgences.

Wow, the guy even has a 2nd wife and bodyguard. He's a dato?

    ReplyDelete
  30. then u can borrow his car sometime :P

  31. I just can't imagine buying a car costing more than my house. However, when one is in business and needs to entertain, perhaps a nice car can become an asset rather than a liability.

  32. It's a shame that money is wasted on things like this!

    ReplyDelete
  33. wow... nice! i wanna test drive the car

  34. 20-30k for numbers...aihhh...better donate to charity...hehehe

  35. Wow! If only I am that rich!! But then again, I am quite happy with what I have right now so it's all good.

I just don't think buying expensive cars make good investment. Haha!
