The first car I had ever driven was a Mini Cooper when I was barely 12 years old! It belonged to a family friend who lived in a huge house with large rolling compound in Jesselton Heights in Penang. That small fart son was 10 years old and invited me to take a ride. He raced around the compound and I screamed in terror.
It was my turn to drive and instantly fell in love with that toy car. Years later, Mr Bean shared the same taste too.
I was strolling inside a hypermarket recently and stumbled upon this exhibition of modified Mini Minors and Coopers! They were re-sprayed and fitted with spoilers, lamps & nice rims making them cute and alive again!
It only costs RM38,000 each! Whoever that bought them over 2 decades ago could see the price being appreciated many folds! I think not many cars could see prices being appreciated like this!
At what age did you first got your hands on the wheels and drove a car?

I first drove when I was 18, after my SPM and when I planned to get a driving license.
ReplyDeleteHuh? Cars can appreciate one meh? I thought all cars will go down in value once you drive it out of the car shop!
ReplyDeleteI was not allowed to drive until I was 18. Or was it 19? Can't remember. Haha!!
ReplyDeleteMini Cooper looks nice but I am not a fan. LOL! Not really into cars actually : )
ReplyDeleteThe first car I drove was whatever the the driving instructor drove. Haha.

ReplyDeleteI like Mini Cooper.
ReplyDeleteAm still dreaming of owning one but the new ones sooooo damn expensive!
But they are cute. Right? :)
I still cannot drive.
ReplyDeleteFirst time wanted to learn, got pregnant, felt not safe to learn.
Second time, after getting the L license again, got into a bad accident (I wasn't driving, I promise!) then got phobia until now scared to drive.
I preferred to be chauffeured around nowadays anyway. ;p
Lina is indeed a First Lady! Needs to be chauffeured around! LOL
ReplyDeleteehehhhe...i have one mini cooper at home..that belongs to my girls. Only both of them can fit in..
ReplyDeleteWhen I was twelve, I was still busy braiding my hair. :P I was only allowed to drive on my own, like everyone else, when I was 18! Anyway, what car do you drive now? You know I wish I was there in that exhibition. I would’ve bought one of the Minis right there and then. Even at a decreased rate, it’s still my dream car.
ReplyDeleteFor me, Mini Coopers are like the Beetles of the older generation. I mean, a lot of people today really adore MCs just like how our grandparents loved the Bugs during their time. ;) Most of my friends would love to have their own Mini!
