Office Politics & Back Stabbing

I am sure all of you have seen much nonsense at your offices and workplaces all your life. Where there's humans, there's bound to be conflicts. Just name it and I have seen them all from colleagues physically fighting, back stabbing, manipulations, dishonesty, cheating, having affairs and even engaged in sordid sexual activities.

Yes, I caught the 2 directors in my ex company making out in her room when all the staff had gone home for the day. The whole office's lights were turned off with alarm system turned on while the heavy breathing continued inside the female's locked door. My junior colleague and I made an unexpected return to office that night to return back some important stuffs when we chanced upon the discovery! Her always perfect hair was all messy with blouse wrongly buttoned!

My present workplace is like a whore house with heads of departments back stabbing each other all the time. The foreign workers in their departments are always taking naps at every opportunity!

They sleep like dead zombies in full view of everyone so I might as well snap their photos and show the world too. Did I do anything wrong? Now their problems and bad attitudes have been brought to my attention as they failed to control the QC and staff performance. Who am I to blame?

The recent mistake they caused in Singapore was a last straw as it involved several millions of losses if I had not gone to the republic to troubleshoot and rectify the problem. I had to drive there immediately and the rush trip back was so stressful that my whole body heated up with thick phlegms clogged in my throat. Our whole organisation of less than a 100 workforce had a field day gossiping and pointing fingers at each other instead of thinking of preventive measures and solutions not to allow such problems to occur again. If you think you have best buddies in your office, think again or dream on! You can never trust anyone BUT yourself.

I was surprised to hear the director's wife telling me that the entire factory and construction divisions would shudder in fear when I am near them!! Whoa!! Do I sound like a Hungry Ferocious Tiger that could claw my victims any minute? I am not sure whether this is a compliment or not but my responsibility is to troubleshoot everything for my MD.

Words can be scary and lies could kill anyone too. I am always on fullest alert to gag their throats when I smell someone was trying to create problems by spraying out toxins to the bosses. I always remember the valuable advice given to me -

......"Always Control The Situation & Not Allow The Situation To Control Us"......

  3. huh?? workers taking naps in the factory during working hours?? that is something not right, the person who manage them should be responsible for the disciplinary punishment.. it's such an unprofessional sight to see people sleeping in the workplace, tsk tsk tsk!! i would say, if wanna sleep then do it obscurely, *padan mukan* Anay snap their photos and show them to the world!! or you should actually post them to the company's internal website if you have that :p

    1. Post up at website no point. Best if snap photo and cakl them into the office then deduct pay. If cakap pasal $$ sure they will wake up. U cakap company website, maybe they dont even care leh. To them maybe what the heck is a website. Lagi syok if photo come out in website. They will phone there friends and let tell their friend what a luxurious life they hare having. can sleep on the job

    2. They would sleep or play cards at any hour so long as they have no jobs to do. I think that's bad sight & influence on others. I have visited Jakarta and saw many workers sleeping everywhere at any hour too.

  4. wow, Anay made an emergency trip down to Singapore and saved the company from losing millions, or rather helped the company to save millions?? you surely are the most valuable employee of the company dei, but i wonder if your boss ever recognize that rather than taking things for granted that it's what he pays you for.. haha!! of course you get the pay and you are to help solve the problems, but then humans are still humans, we do need some kind of intrinsic rewards too right?? :)

  6. I wonder what your work involves, so many foreign workers. Interesting!

They're all like that and it would be hard to keep control of them - may just disappear into thin air. I know there were some at the car wash I go to - came over legally to work in the oil palm estates in the interior but they left without a word to work in the town even for a lower pay as there is much more fun here, not so boring...and they did not even care that their former employer was holding on to their passports!

Same problems too if you engage a maid to work in the house...may just disappear with everything in the house along with them - not all of course, but there have been one case too many.

  15. Oh My---Office Politics/Attitudes/Promiscuity/Back-stabbing, etc. etc. etc. is NO FUN... (I assume that none of these people read your blog.. Otherwise, they'd come after you!!! Yipes.)

People can be so mean/so hard-headed/so selfish/so greedy... I see it in our country so much more than I used to... Workplaces used to be run efficiently and the workers were treated good by the employers.. These days, everything is about the almighty dollar---and people don't matter. Men who have worked in a business for 30 years and given it their all are tossed out on the ear when the bosses seem fit to do so.... TERRIBLE.. What has happened to us?

Good Luck to you as you work there... Are you looking for something better which is operated more efficiently --with more 'professional' people????? Hope so.

    Hugs,
    Betsy

I have been praying hard for better career opportunities and salary! The world has changed, so have the humans & bosses. They have forgotten the word loyalty! Are you in the paper or timber industry by any chance? I can see the product but am not sure what it is, if I had to guess it'll be the former or PVC/plastics.

I used to be in the timber industry, which hires a lot of foreign workers - there was a huge strike once and all 2,000 workers were fired and there was a factory stoppage. That was the biggest thing that happened when I was there. Also lots of sexual shenanigans - more than one guard has been fired from the dormitories (all the Indonesian workers live at the factory and are not supposed to mix) for sleeping with female foreign workers!
