Cosplay 2013 @ KLCC

The older I get, the more my wife would drag me to indulge the lifestyles of the young and trendy ones. I joined the gang to watch the Cosplay and Anime fans who flocked by the thousands to KLCC in December 2013.

1. This was an eye opener to see hundreds of supporters cheering for their friends who competed the online games live on stage. It was so exciting and thrilling to hear thunderous screams & cheers!

2. What do you call these Action Heroes? They looked so macho and ready to save the earth!

3. This half naked guy held a huge weapon and pretended it was SO HEAVY by bulging his abs!

4. He looked nice like a cross Penguin Robot. Anyone knows this character's name?

5. They had so many booths doing rousing business that catered to every fans' needs and whims. These characters looked so Gay where the 2 males were always intimate and in under wears etc. In reality, I saw some guys that really imitated them inside the convention hall.

6. This group was very popular and cameras were clicking away non stop under the blazing sun & heat. What are their names?

7. This lady was hot and popular like a mannequin. I only realised that she was alive when she pushed her hair back.

8. Yes this is the Culture of Japan.
I saw many youngsters walking all over in Osaka wearing their favourite costumes!
It was such a common sight there.
Someday your kids here might be wearing these costumes during wedding dinners
and Chinese New Year!

9. The guy and gal looked so cute selling stuffs! I love the hair!

I have been thinking what I should dress up for the coming Cosplay 2014.

    2. I have seen guys dressed in play-maid apron, holding Hello Kitty bags and umbrella, with dyed white hair, completely.. Not a wig.. Looks gross, but then they are supposed to look (and dress) like this to attract attention.. *shrug*

    3. I will visit Japan and get some ideas what i should wear for Cosplay! Probably just a natural "Old Male Warrior" in armors.

People are getting kinky and innovative these days to be somebody else!

  9. Morning, am back to work today. So only got chance to comment.. Haha, I’m laughing at your first sentence, “indulge the lifestyles of the young and trendy ones”.. Eh, come on, you are not very old only la, k? And no harm to go see-see-look-look and observe now “hing” what ma, kan?

First thing that comes to mind on your post today: kawa-i-nehhhh... Hahahaha..

    1. Eh, the crowd is huge, I know many are into animes and all, nomatter what age they are la.. I’ve seen (from the tv) collections of those figurines, mini ones also.. They are worth a lot of money. I was shocked when the TV host said the (mini) figurines could worth “kei sap chin” ..

    2. From your first few pictures, I only have Ultraman in mind.. But I know there are many TV shows with similar characters, different names, not Ultraman already.. The one in black, looks like the evil guy in Ultraman, kekeke.. And all the heroes which I call the Ultraman team will sort of “combine” powers and “turn” into one big guy to fight the evil guy.. Sorry, the way I describe, errmm, hehehehehe..

    3. Wait, the group that you mentioned very popular at #6, errm, sorry, never seen them before.. So who are they and what are their names?

Something to ask, at #7, the “human mannequins” standing there whole day without changing shifts?

    4. And now, I'm laughing at your last sentence at #8: Someday your kids here might be wearing these costumes during wedding dinners and Chinese New Year..
Correction: Someday, kids will be wearing these to school everyday :)
That's not impossible you know. We don't know what will happen in the future, teehee..

    3. Agree with you Sharon.. If TM decides to participate in Cosplay 2014, I will go and support him with my pom poms and my loud voice.. Depends on what theme he wants to dress up, then I will also dress up according to his theme.. How's that?

      Delete
    4. I will be cheering for him in SG...

That's a good idea... But first, TM has to decided on what he wants to dress up, kaka...

    5. Coming back to this post, i thought TM will add in more pictures and the pictures will have TM dressing up in cosplay costume, kakaka...

  13. #1.. hey, don't underestimate the power of online games!! it is indeed something very popular and making lots of money.. now those hundreds of people are just a small fraction of the tip of an iceberg.. there are always tournaments of these online games competition, i guess their movement of fingers on the keyboard or joystick or whatever gadget could make Anay awe with disbelief.. before we even can see what was happening, they have already controlled the character on screen to move even faster than a normal human can do!!

  14. #2.. don't ask me the names, i will never know aside from Doraemon!! cool seeing these "superheroes" lining up there exhibiting their costumes.. but have a closer look, ah, a bit funny to find they all have very different body and physique.. i would say the first on the right was a bit too plump for his character?? probably more suitable to dress up like a santa like the one on the left.. ooopsss, pardon my CB mouth :p

    1. I'm laughing now you know *scrolling up to see*
How come of all the canggih yau-ying fighters on the line, there's one santa at the back? Errr, salah tempat or didn't bring his suit, so cincai grab one santa suit to dress up?

  15. #3.. errr, i wonder if this half naked guy is going to hold on to that huge piece of thing throughout the session?? aiyoh, cari makan memang susah nowadays lah~~ sweat!! =.="

  16. #5.. fuyoh!! i want the body of the guys!! nice pecs, six packs, tight butt, big arms, slim waist!! so, you did not take photo and show us those who imitated them in the convention hall?? i bet they must be also very hot and popular with lots of camera clicking around.. and ladies, especially elder ones, who would walk near to take photos with them!!

    ReplyDelete
  17. #7.. haha, probably a real person lah.. i think producing a mannequin this size and this real could even cost more than hiring this lady to pose in the hall.. and furthermore, she would probably be voluntary because she must be also a fans of Japanese anime, and that real demo is always more attractive than just a mannequin display, agree?? the organizer sure has these put into considerations..

    ReplyDelete
  18. #9.. aiyoh, kawaii ne!! and the other girl was too shy to appear in the shot so she was hiding behind the cardboard?? hehehe.. did Anay buy anything from these cute boy and girls?? and i can see "Free Keychain!! 1 = RM3, 1 set = RM10" what are those?? and of course, i would not have missed out that Doraemon on the right!! awwww, that one for sale too?? or just mainly for decoration??

BTW, did Anay know that Doraemon is the Ambassador for Japanese Anime?? :)

  30. The thing about the cosplayers is, it's not just about wearing a costume but wearing and owning it. Cosplayers usually have a character they stick with n they immerse themselves in the character.

One cosplayer from the Philippines went on to become a popular TV VJ because of her cosplaying. :-)
