Having Fun @ KLIA 2 (UPDATED)

It was a jolly Saturday night and we had a small surprise birthday dinner for my wife
at Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur.

1. It was a memorable night for her with the good company and delicious food.
The chefs and F&B service were also excellent and very professional
to please any fussy guests. Go check it out please!

2. We decided to head to the much heard about "KLIA2" airport after dinner,
to try out her birthday present. It is the latest mini DLSR Lumix GM1 which is mirrorless!
Here, I was doing SK's famous Usain Bolt pose!
Show Off! Nice? Any Ratings?

3. This KLIA2 entrance statement is a nice remembrance for any traveler!
I love this new airport and was glad to check it out at near midnight when
the crowd was much lesser.

4. The whole interior looks huge, modern and well designed with spacious layout
plus sufficient signs to direct everyone.

5. The information counter looks hi-tech and nice too!
I was so proud to see their friendly and professional services offered with a broad smile.

 6. This is best thing! I came to check the location of the KLIA Express Train's platform inside
this new airport. The location is a breeze & convenient to walk up to the check-in counters!

 7. Plenty of nice benches to sit while waiting for the trains to arrive.
So many trendy shops to lure shoppers too!

 8. LOOK! There is a BIG HOLE!

9. There are so many flights landing and taking off within minutes!
This airport is ready to handle the big crowds.

 10. I have not seen any check-in counters that looks so interesting and colourful.
It really makes the long wait less stressful.

11. My favourite shop!!! They close at 12:00 midnight! Hooray!

 12. A beautiful concept of our local culture! Nice isn't it?

13. So many other cafes line along the arcades to choose!

 14. This is my preferred choice. It is cheap and the kopi gao will keep me awake!

 15. My all time favourite cookies shop. I can munch a whole bag during long flights!

 16. They have so many nicely wrapped gifts of cookies & choclates!
Hint*  Hint*  Hint*

17. This cafe really impressed me. I love their design concept which is very unique.
They look like old fashioned check-in counters.

18. They have separate dining areas for coffee & cakes with very relaxing stools.
Are they not awesome and pretty to sit?? Old vintage suitcases! I want to steal one home!

19. If you need to laze and have a quiet moment. These benches with green plants
will soothe your mind.

 20. It was past midnight and many passengers slept everywhere with blankets &
sarongs covering their heads. Their flights were early mornings, so they
took cheaper public transport before midnight to reach there.

21. You can sleep anywhere and no one cares!
Have A Safe Flight Everyone!

  1. Hah? Like that also can? Kau-kau-zhan ahh? hehehe..
When I see your title at my feed, I'm already imagining the post will be about you and your family going to KLIA 2, not for boarding, but just going there for walk-walk-see-see-look-look, yes or no?
Lastime, many many yonks ago, when KLIA was newly built, I also went there just for jalan-jalan, bought some chocolates too.. Went there for an hour, even had KFC there, then came back! haha..

Yes, I went there at almost midnight to check out the newest airport which I have heard so much about its gigantic size and endless shopping arcades! Wow! Wow! Wow! That's what I said.

    2. Ahh, now I see your updates.. Your wife looks very sweet and pretty there.. Happy birthday to her, I hope my wishes are not too late.. She looks young also leh, like a college girl..
KLIA2 looks big indeed.. Much better and "cleaner" than I expected.. You went around midnite, and I don't see many people there.. Unlike in KLIA or LCCT, regardless what time, the place looks like a market leh.. But KLIA2 looks a bit quiet, heh..
I'm interested to find out what eateries they have there.. By the way, the BIG HOLE picture looks interesting.. You are a good poser, hou yau ying wor..

  9. Movies got trailer so blogging also got trailer. Bananaz loves to visit Penang airport those days to look at tourists coming in and going out, seeing the dresses they wear, the luggages they pull, observing their reactions on those rushing and those killing time when too early at airport etc. Of course it was also part of the job to assist and help out with groups & FIT paxz check-in. Also do a bit of rapport and kaypo after duty to rapport with airport personnel & staff.

    1. You hung out so much in airports! I am not sure whether you were a tour guide or freelance pimp? LOL
I was also a fan of airports in Penang. I had to send and fetch my brother every week during his stint as the right hand man of Loh Kah Kheng @ Boon Siew Honda. You remember this name?
Those days I was dreaming of the job as an air steward to be able to fly every week. Luckily it never happened.

    2. Yup the late Loh K Kheng rings a bell. Those days car park in Pg airport is foc where can find such good frog jumping on the streets now. Can park the car at airport go KL meeting, stay overnite fly back next day without paying a single sen.

    3. Not tour guide and not freelance pimp. Both your guesses are wrong meaning you got wrong gas dei.

That was quite a fun night out at KLIA 2 with the Mrs. It looks very nice, so clean, high tech and modern. I see that you were happily posing away. Not bad to have a date night at the airport :)

  18. Firstly, let me wish your lovely wife Happy Birthday though I am sure this is a very late wish.. but better late than never. :) Secondly, such a lovely gift to her too.. but I notice that you take more pictures than she does, right? hahahaa... Thirdly, may I ask whether you purposely went to KLIA2 to take pictures? Nay... I think both of you are going for a romantic getaway, right? Ok, will wait patiently for your updates again!! Have a Great Time!!

    1. Many thanks for your kind wishes. I took more photos as I was planning to blog and share this new place with everyone like you. At least you have some idea now the next time you transit here. You can come very early and shop all your needs at the same price!!! It is really like a new shopping centre with aeroplanes waiting to fly!! The gift was a small thing but she has very good interest in photography compared to me. So I thought it would be good to develop her skills to help my blogs too!

  30. i went to KLIA2 once before my actual travel to Japan in July.. to send off a friend and also take the opportunity to see how the multi-billion place looks like.. indeed, it was so nice and so big, so much nicer than the LCCT and even the KLIA itself.. budget terminal way better than what the national career has, rather ironic huh?? i like the shopping area especially, so much to shop and things (other then F&B) are sold at the same price as what we have in the city..

  31. okay, this is what you have seen at the "front part" of KLIA2, most would like it very much.. wait till the day, you landed in KLIA2 and have to drag your hand luggage, walk for 20 minutes from the plane to the immigration.. and then wait for another 15 minutes for the luggage (because the airport is so huge, it takes longer to get to the belt also).. that was so tiring, my experience tells me.. :p

Wah, you are very good to promote KLIA2 with so many nice photos. Happy Belated belated birthday to your wife! She is so gracious to participate in your post on your blog. :)

Your poses in photo 6 and 8 are very sporting! Especially the one in photo 6, where you poses as a statue.

SK changed his signature pose to jumping man already so your running man pose does not pass the test. Please copy his SK latest jumping pose.

By the way, this is mun (live to eat).

    Have a nice day!
