My Quick & Lazy Mushroom Soup

I often got inspired by this Lazy Man's cooking & baking posts of blogger RealGunner
who is a happy KL bachelor residing in Penang. I thought that even lousy cooks like me
could probably dish out wonders too!
Before I boast to you my cooking, let me wish all my blogger friends
and silent readers a Very Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year 2015.
Happy Holidays to everyone and get drunk & happy okay.

You probably remember that my sick mother was discharged from hospital recently and now resting at home. Her efficient maid who has been nursing and caring for her has gone back to Philippines for her Christmas break while my sister is away to join her hubby's family in Sweden and my brother is always finding excuses to disappear from thin air. So we have hired professional nurse's help to give 24 hours care for a week and it costs some RM5,000!!! This is crazy but true... sweats!
Besides that, I have to plan for most of their meals and the planning made me smarter. I was sick of buying the same restaurant food daily and started toying with several soups & my Mario's spaghetti. Today I will share my Quick & Lazy Soup that costs me less than RM10.00 and could serve 8 persons!

I bought 2 mushroom soup sachets (No MSG), 2 types mushroom and used some milk.
The total is indeed less than RM10 and took less than 45 minutes to boil till finish!

YUMMY! It tasted good if not better than the soup served at P@STA Z@NMAI.

    1. Yeah the total bill was scary but if you break down, it's reasonable. The nurses are very well trained and good. They won't sleep at night!!!

Mushroom soup, who doesn't like? I guess everyone likes mushroom soup, garlic bread and chicken chop, teehee..
Oh, I thought your lazy version would be using just Campbell brand..How does Maggi taste like? Wow, since you said the soup is nicer than the ones in Pasta Zanmai, then I think I must really try this brand liao.. I tried making home-made mushroom soup from scratch, and it was worth the effort.. I blended (pre-cooked) mushrooms, some carrots, onions and celeries with chicken broth and milk, taste awesome !!
Lastly, wishing all bloggers Merry Christmas and have a great day tomorrow :)

Good to hear that your mother has been discharged from the hospital and you are the filial son who is taking good care of her instead of vanishing into thin air like your brother. You are getting good at this - making tasty food that serves many with a low cost. Hope to read more about your cooking. Keep up the good work!

  20. Anay cooked mushroom soup eh! Reminds me of Anay's snow white mushroom only. But then, good sharing, my two girls love mushroom with garlic bread.

If Anay can put in some black pepper when cooking, I am sure it tastes even better than Pasta Zanmai one.

  26. It looks good! :)

Haha! Yeah it is quick and easy but it tastes good coz you use real mushrooms. I think that's the trick to a good mushroom soup - a lot of places use canned mushrooms or the mushrooms have been soaked in the soup for too long, so it doesn't taste good. Fresh mushrooms is the way to go!

    1. I admire the way you eat out and cook in. You must be laughing hard at my soup dei. I agree that the fresh mushrooms could over ride the instant soup powder to taste fine.
