The Best Ice Cream On My Earth

I am a crazy fan of good ice cream all my life.
Lately I migrated from 'Baskeen Robins' to this new Nana outlet.
Nana is from Japan and gotten me hooked by its rich
creamy green tea & choco flavours with added corn flakes,
chewy balls and red bean bites with syrup beneath.
Melts in my mouth & I saw heavens!

I took my wifey there on Friday night for a treat
before she flies off to US for a couple of weeks!
Soon, I will be a lonely bachelor man again.

Next day, Darren dated us out for a chat. I was very flattered
as my late paternal grandpa has 58 grandchildren and Darren
chose to meet me as his only chosen cousin from the brood of my clans.
I treated him to feast on 24 pieces of chicken bites at the
Korean KyoChon's and thereafter to indulge in this
sinful Nana's ice cream
AGAIN!!!

I chose KyoChon & Nana's as they have yet to open
their franchise outlets in Melbourne.
Darren loved them.

 ****************

Darren and I have been close buddies since we were infants.
We never got along as he was very notorious and rebellious
like a Yakuza triad even when he was a toddler. We both
swore and fought physically so much with bloody bruises as kids.
His father spanked him with rubber tyres when he peed
inside the family's aquarium and all the ocean's marine fishes
floated up the next morning. His father locked him inside
the toilet when he jumped up to grab their brand new
fridge's upper door. He yanked the 1 day old fridge
and it fell flat down to the floor almost killing himself.
His father continued playing mahjong and forgot about
his locked son inside toilet. My Tai-Koo aunty
found Darren sleeping beside the toilet bowl like a cat.
The damaged fridge was beyond repair.

We grew up into our teens and clicked suddenly
like Magnets! I taught him to smoke the first cigarettes when
I dragged him along for my clubbing days. Thank God, he
never picked up all my bad habits and became a
football and badminton player.

He worked in the high profiled investment department for
Robert Kuok before migrating to Melbourne.

  1. This means over the course of childhood and teen-hood, you turned into the yakuza while Darren became good LOL!

    1. You are almost half correct in that sense but I should say that I am still a goodie man who just matured like any other men to partake in nicotine, alcohol and good music that come together. That brat was rotten and got beaten to pulp by me till devils left him.

  4. Nana is my favourite green tea eatery! Does your cousin know you are featuring him on your post? Good choice of food to treat your cousin. Can you name all your 55 cousins? I minus 3 from 58 because the 3 grandchildren of your grandfather are you, your brother and your sister.

    1. Yes I am proudly the only grandchild who could single out all the names of the other 57 grandchildren cos I am a nosy busy body! Muahahaha
I am not surprised to hear Nana is your favourite too. There is nothing that you ate and I disliked so far!

  6. Fuiyoh, Darren lengchai leh.. I was wondering who's that when I was scrolling down your post.. This Nana thing, I've seen it in FB, but never tried it before.. Ice creams are expensive to eat nowadays, Haagan Daz, BR and Sara Lee.. I usually buy a big box of Nestle chocolate ice cream (used to be RM5.90 a tub, now maybe RM6-7++) and eat with my kids, huhuhu.. I also like ripple flavour and vanilla chocolate chip too..
Oooo la la, look at your gigantic cups of green tea ice cream.. If you cannot finish, I can lick yours.. Err wait, lick yours, sounds hamsap.. Hehehehehe..
Fuiyoh, hou yau yeng you, teach people how to smoke timmm.. There is a saying "man not bad, woman don't like", I bet you must have had lots of girlfriends lastime (maybe now also got).. Woohoo, freedom for a few weeks, maybe go find girlfriend we dunno also, kakakakakakakaa..

    1. Oiii you wanna fan fire for me kah? I have been a goody goody boy all these years. Those wild years are bygones and will become memories. These days I complain when people smoke in public places and I would avoid pubs too. I couldn't believe that I was a party animal once upon a time.
I also eat ice cream at home when my wife makes her own famed Japanese Green Tea Ice Cream. I just squirt some Hersey's choco sauce and sprinkle corn flakes. Next time I will throw in some ready made Tong Yuen Balls too. Yums!

  7. ice-cream!!!! i-scream!!!! so Anay switched from the angmoh ice-cream to Japanese ice-cream.. at first Thambee thought Nana is a place in Bangkok dei, but switch the mind, it's Japanese.. so it's rather desserts than purely ice-cream like BR31?? Thambee very *jakun* lah, he eats cheesy mutton curry more than he can afford to eat ice-cream.. even if he eats ice-cream, those will be the grassroots class Kings and Nestle and the unbranded.. cannot afford these high class tens of RM ice-cream dei~~

    1. Yeah! Ice Cream! I sCream! U sCream! ... Adoi. So vulgar! You started this nonsense dei...
You are just a good clown to humble yourself here but often secretly indulged in your binge splurges at the orang-atas buffets and desserts! Dei, who has globe trotted so much like Sherman Khan where you have been, seen, being seen and eaten all under the good sun!!

  8. so Letchumy flew to US for a few weeks and Anay has got all his time to meet up with his Yakuza friends!! Yakuza who loves ice-creams, muahahaha, that's not very jantan.. but Thambee has to say for those who love desserts, that glass of green tea ice-creams with jelly and cream and balls and flakes and syrup would definitely be a turn-on, it really looks like standing there like a sexy lady waving to the Yakuza to go and lick and eat her!!! but Thambee will choose other favors though, he likes drinking green tea on its own but not green tea products as they are often too heavily and overwhelmingly flavored, too strong for his liking.. but i have tried a few milder ones in Japan and like it, I wonder if these in Nana will be what I would accept..

    1. No Thambee, she not yet naik pesawat CX yet.
You need to start liking Green Tea flavours and scrape your tongue off the cheesy mutton stains. Don't miss out the life's good things and green tea has been proven to help prevent cancer.
Your hamsap eyes saw a lady in the glass?? No lar, Anay saw a real ice cream!!!

  9. 58 in your generation in the family!! and Anay is only closed to Darren but not the other 56!! what a night so enjoyable with Korean fried chicken and Japanese ice-cream desserts!! I heard there is a huge number of Asian and immigrants in Melbourne and Darren has sure tried many different food over there, so smart of Anay to research on the two chains before bringing Darren there to try out something not yet available there and that he likes.. where are the photos of the chickens??? bloggers love food photos!!! muahahaha~~ xD

    1. It was so impromptu meeting for kopi panas aT PappaRich and we adjourned right away after scanning my food radar. I thought so hard for food choices and singled out the ones unavailable in OZ.
Sorry, we chatted and gulped the chicken bites without thinking of my blog again as I am a lousy food blogger just like this post. Instead of talking about the ice cream, I gossiped about the ice cream eater's torrid pasts instead.

  10. if Anay was the one who brought Darren to go clubbing and taught him to smoke, then this make us wonder if all those mischievous deeds like peeing in the aquarium and jumping to pull open the fridge door were actually ANAY'S IDEA TO DARREN!!!! muahahaha.. so likely dei, luckily Darren didn't learn the bad things from Anay but become a disciplined football and badminton player.. :)

    1. Only a naughty serpent like Thambee would think Anay has vicious traits to lure this cousin. We used to fist fight when younger as I could not stand his cheeky ways and had to beat the devil outta him. Thank God, he found ways to release his steam and anger on the opponents in the games. Those people who are very weak minded and soft hearted would not excel in sports. like Darren.
