My American classmate, Mike taught me to use the microwave ovens and bragged about all the wonders it could dish out. The Americans love the easy-way-out lifestyle and created so many microwave-easy food like mashed potatoes, pop corns, cup cakes, cappuccino and even rice! I found them very convenient & fast. On the Winter mornings, I would place my socks & scarfs in the microwave for 30 seconds before dashing out in the cold to catch the bus. It was truly so warm and nice! Now please don't try that, just read below.
Years later, I read much scary stories about the danger brought by microwave ovens. One lunatic lady in US placed her alive cat and microwaved it! Meeeoooow! The cat bled to death before it exploded into small pulps! So gruesome lah! Argh!
The microwave oven was invented by Dr. Percy LeBaron Spencer in 1946 and it was actually a by-product of another technology using the magnetron which produced the electromagnetic energy. Over the years, it was a flop item due to its huge size, weight and high cost. The manufacturers came in to simplify and made them user-friendly at cheaper costs. Since then almost every American home has at least 1 or 2 microwave ovens.
A well known Swiss Food Scientist - Dr. Hans Ulrich shared his research findings that food cooked or defrosted in a microwave oven caused changes in the blood indicative of a developing pathological process, as is also found in carcinoma. Put simply, microwave food causes CANCER!
Russia has banned the microwaves in 1976! I thought that the Russians are smart devils in the nuclear age, so they could be wise to detect its danger easily. I decided to play safe and live without one. I would just use a normal baking oven or oven toaster to cook.
Toy manufacturers have rolled out 'microwave ovens' for kids to play. They are very safe to play with but the kids are trained from young to appreciate its usage without knowing the danger that lies ahead. Some argued with me that why didn't the US government ban the microwaves if these ovens brought so much dangers. I replied that if they could ban smoking and nicotine, they might consider to ban microwaves too. Both kills!

ReplyDeleteAlmost everyone knows that smoking causes cancer and heart disease. It can shorten our life by 10 years or more..
What i don’t like about smoking is cigarettes leave smokers with a condition called halitosis, or persistent bad breath. The smell of stale smoke tends to linger not just on people's clothing, but on their hair, sofa, and car. And it's often hard to get the smell of smoke out.
STAY AWAY from smoke will give us a whole lot more energy, better performance, better looks, more money in your pocket, and, in the long run, more life to live!

Microwave foods is obviously different from normal cooking, because it 'heats from the inside out. Microwave a potato for 30-60 minutes, and it will become as black as Micheal Joradan inside, but on the outside look untouched and white as Micheal Jackson
Maybe government should alert everyone to the pervasive danger in the use of microwave cooking. Stop people to eat anywhere that we know microwave cooking is used... KFC will be bankrupt..
