We all know there are many thieves out there! Bank Robbers, Snatch Thieves, Pick Pockets, House Burglars and etc. Now we have ATM Machine Thieves and even Potted Plant Thieves! OMG!
I visited IKEEA recently around the closing time to buy some household stuff. After checking out of the counter, we decided to buy the famous delicious ice cream! It was so yummy to stand there and eat my ice cream cone amongst a huge crowd of family shoppers.
I admired their thoughtful decor to place Eco-Green partitions using
potted plants.
Oh well, they were fake plants but still looked fresh, neat
& nice!
Horrors! The next minute, I saw few pots went missing! David Copperfield could learn from them to make plants go disappear! It made me sick and shudder to think of such folks who would steal & grab anything!
....
yes we definitely have all kind of thieves around us!! some you could name, some you could not even name and yet they exist to shock you and give you an eye-opener!! Anay is also a thief!! you steal the breath away from many auntie bloggers dei!! you are a Breath Thief (note: not Breast Thief).. :p
ReplyDeleteaiyoyo!! the IKEA soft-serve ice cream!! I-scream!! yes, it would be so nice to have ice cream and then watching the people buying tons of stuffs at the check-out counter opposite where you are enjoying your ice-cream!! they have nice curry puffs and hot dogs too!!
oh, who were so daring to steal those plants??!! and are you sure they were stolen or just empty spaces that IKEA have not got enough plants to cover?? or maybe not theft but vandalism that caused the plants to be taken away for maintenance or even replacement?? well well well.. whoever did that, the sky is overseeing, he/she/they can fool others but not himself/herself/themselves and certainly not the God up there.. they will have bad karma and frequency following them..
*speechless*

Waaah! I will strike lottery today! My thambee Sherman Khan got the first chop here!!! Normally you are the last and almost a midnight owl blogger.
DeleteHey the plant boxes were all tightly filled with pots in 2 by 2 sequence. It went missing lah!! No need mention who and what colour. Just let the karma haunt them.
Congratulations to Thambee! Hahaha
DeleteKaneeneh ! My 4-Ekor makan habis!
DeleteThambee has been getting earlier with his comments lately, I noticed..
Deletetold u to buy lottery already leh anay
DeleteElo elo dear TM.. Oohh, good that you publish your post at this time, rather than publishing at 5.30pm sharp like most times.. huhuhu.. Wah, you went there during their almost-closing-time? Then you must be living damn near there la.. For me to get there from my place, that would take like 35-40 minutes without jam.. My place to Ikea is like from “sky” to “ground”.. But I still like to go there if we have house stuffs to buy, and we always end up buying tones of goodies.. Just buy something and the parking ticket is free.. Nice.. Oh and yes, those lovely soft ice cream cone, nice..
ReplyDeleteErrr, wait, those potted plants, are they for sale? Maybe people take those plants to pay at the counter leh, no? I think I can see price stickers on the pot.. Ok, maybe they are not price stickers, maybe just some stickers but not price stickers?
Eh, since you are standing there eyeing at people around you and taking pictures, you didn’t see that thief (or thieves) “taking” the plants meh? You are always ready with your angry glare getting ready to pound at people who “attack” you, ooops, typo, “attack” those poor pretty little plants wor..
Aha! I was supposed to post last night but dozed off and was busy like a bee this morning until now. I must return to my old habits to post at midnight.
DeleteOh yeah, you should know by now that I live just 2 minutes from there as mentioned in some blogger's postings. Those plants were not for sale as the partitions were outside the counter near the ice cream vending machines. Eh!!! I would never dare be kay poh to catch thieves. Nanti he smash my head with the 3 missing pots!!
Next time Ikea has to put security guards to jaga the plants.
DeleteAnd yet, we Malaysians will blame those security guards as foreigners (Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Nepalese) make us feel unsafe. Hurmmmm
I always think crooks could just be any colour, race and nationalities. In other words, the crooks and thieves are humans like you and me.
Deleteagree with anay
DeleteCould it be the staff taken it away to replace it with some new one...
ReplyDeleteYeah maybe you are right. Maybe the staff actually took them away to trim and water them!! Muahahaha
Deletei had same thinking like Sharon.
DeleteNot for triming and stuff la as it's fake one....maybe got people make rosak the plants...you know la...some will go touch and bend and pull...rosak liao....so the staffs took away those la. Have not had time to replace yet
Goodness, the thief was so daring to take away the potted plants in full view of the crowd? Perhaps everyone was so distracted by the activities around them (and ice cream) and when opportunity struck, just grab and stuff into big bag or whatever that can conceal the pots. Quite appalling that such things happen :(
ReplyDeleteI suppose because most people have big bags with stuff they bought earlier so it was easy to cart off those plants.
DeleteIt is really shocking how some of us think nothing about stealing such stuff, right? :(
I better reserve what I have guessed. The management can easily check their CCTV cameras. That night they had ample security guards on duty but they could be busy looking at Ah Mois. They must be pinning for their fiancƩe back home.
Deletethose plats cost how much? I dont think the co will bother to see
DeleteIf it's not locked down or fastened, I think anything also these people would steal. Tsk tsk
ReplyDeleteThey should stick all the pots with elephant glue! That's what shops at One-U do for their displays!
DeleteAiyo ..... decors also kena stolen. But then , these could be folks who steal not for money but to bring it home as decors. Hahah. ..
ReplyDeleteWakakakaka! Now you give me ideas to cart them home too!
DeletePoor ikea .... Sometimes their pencils also kena emptied by some shoppers.
ReplyDeleteOooh! I do love their cute and short pencils that comes with free paper measuring tape! I am sure you have some at home too!
DeleteLOL yea, some of my dad's plants at our garden got stolen as well... Malaysians oh Malaysians...
ReplyDeleteGoodness! What did you dad plant until so tempting to thieves????
Deletetypical m'sian antics
ReplyDeleteI would say typical Asians.
Deletesigh... apa pun mau... these people are really cheap...
ReplyDeleteWe have good hands but they have itchy hands!!
DeleteI won't be surprise people steal it... this is Malaysia~
ReplyDeleteToo bad our nation is getting from bad to worst. SAD!!!
If we cannot change the nation, just face it. I think Bill Gates said this line. LOL
DeleteApalah, fake plants also steal? Sell to who? Maybe the thieves also got hoodwinked into thinking they were real plants kot..
ReplyDeleteEveryone's hands are all itchy by nature. They like to touch anything and play.
DeleteIt happens all the time. Like in the case of our shop, petty thieves are all over. They stole drinks and biscuits too but threw the wrappers back to the rack.
ReplyDeleteOh No!!! That's too much, threw wrappers back! That way it was difficult to accuse them for stealing. I think you might need to re-arrange the layout of the shelves.
DeleteEverything needs to be nailed down
ReplyDeleteThis is the losing battle for the world today to fight crimes. Just look at the IS against the whole world of nations! Crazy!
DeleteDefinitely, karma will after them. Everyone have to pay for the price, nothing is free in this world, just have to wait their turns to come. I second Thambee SK's opinion.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I love going to IKEA. I remember 11 years ago, when I first moved in to my house, I went shopping in IKEA with my then BF. We bought back lots of stuffs that occupied fully his Proton Iswara Aerobac and I almost had to sit on the small stool instead of the car seat. Now, my house is old already and no more space to buy in new things from IKEA, but I still love going there to look see look see.
No one ever gets tired of this interesting place. I think the frequency inside is good and gives a good energy. What a sweet shopping you had with your BF! So you both actually moved in before kahwin!
DeleteYou should get ideas from Singapore's make-over interior gurus at the Singapore's newspaper online. They pandai convert the old flats at Toa Payoh into chic & modern flat inside at very minimal costs.

fake plants ka? I thought real leh...look so real
ReplyDeleteI also thought they were real! Seeing is believing. Am I real?
Deletesure kena curi ka? maybe that side memang dont have leh or the few pots have been taken out by staffs to replace. You know some people simply gatal tangan and go pull the pokok or what....or throw rubbish into them
ReplyDeleteTheir display artists normally would do rearrangement or put new stuffs only at early opening hours or when the store has closed. The potted plants in the other rack was filled tightly without empty space.
DeleteStealing potted plants?? Interesting! Your blog title reminds me of my son's recent instagram shout. He actually helped an Indian pax recover his lost diamonds worth 6 figures at the airport where he was working as an intern recently. We were really proud of him when he refused any reward from the pax. It was real funny when I saw his post holding the bag of diamonds with the hashtag #honestyisthebestpolicy. Hahaha!
ReplyDeleteWow! I can imagine how proud and happy you must be. Your son is so honest and that clearly shows his very good upbringing background. I should congratulate the mama and papa too!
DeleteThese days, lost items are gone forevers but these lost diamonds was safe. I wonder whether it was reported in the Singapore media.
It wasn't reported in the media cause the pax didn't wanna make a fuss. He told the airport staff he probably won't be able to return to India if the diamonds weren't found. Lol! Sounds like some mafia thingy. Scary.........
DeletePeople want to take away anything seems showy or maybe they too for sale!
ReplyDeleteYes the human beings are sadly ignorant these days. Morals declined and crimes escalated. It happens all over the world actually.
DeleteHaiz...Malaysian~~
ReplyDeleteMalaysia has been making international headlines for wrong reasons lately.
DeletePotted plants thief? Tsk tsk!
ReplyDeleteI love the ice cream at IKEA! Yum!!
ReplyDeleteBut... are you sure they were stolen? Maybe they were taken by the staff?
ReplyDeleteHi There, There's A LOT of thieves in our country also... Even here in our area, which is relatively safe, things have been stolen from yards/garages, etc... They say NEVER to leave things out where someone can see them... Very sad... Things have really changed since when I was a little girl. We never had to lock our cars or our homes back then --and it was safe for children to walk and play outside... These days---not so much!!!! Too bad, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteBet your ice cream was good.
Hugs,
Betsy
Did you see who took them? Maybe they were taken away for maintainence? LOL!
ReplyDeleteI found them very cute la, why they steal the plants for?? Are they was thinking those are free to take or for sales ya?? Maybe those plant lovers really really like them and stop themselves taking it home!! Usually for us, we would just thought they're for decorations, like that also can take home!! This reminds me few months ago I saw a news about the CH people went to travel, they can take everything from the hotel, usually people just take the shower gel, shampoo like that, but them they take the water boiler, the tv, the towel......sweat and speechless!!!
ReplyDeletelol, couldn't believe got people want to steal plant pot~ @.@?
ReplyDeleteHuh? Really? I wonder what they gonna do with that pot of plant >.<
ReplyDeleteFinder's keepers! Haha.
ReplyDeleteWanted to share a personal experience here in Japan. I was at the Tokyo Tower observatory taking photos last month. It was at night and it was dark. While changing lenses on my camera, I left my lens on the chair and went off! Later when I realized, it was gone. I was so upset thinking that RM2000 down the drain over my own carelessness.
But I decided to go check at the customer service counter anyway. After describing what my lens looked like, the staff opened the drawer and there was my lens. OMG! Someone had picked up the lens and surrendered it to the lost and found counter. I was eternally grateful. If it happened in Malaysia, sad to say but I reckon my chances of finding it would be extremely slim.
OMG! Fake plants also want to take.
ReplyDeleteThose fake plants look so real... but com' on lah. Like that also wanna take for FOC? They are so daring.
