I have been reminded that I have been away from my blog for too long. It was just a month, so not very long compared to many bloggers who went into permanent hibernation in their own time capsules. It has been over 2 months since my mother's passing and I had to attend to many big & small changes recently. I had to clear many stuffs belonging to my late mother until today. She left behind so much legacies and personal belongings. My siblings are all hopeless in doing these errands, so I better do it and not complain.
My wife had to attend her company's meeting with some business associates in Singapore earlier this week. So I took this opportunity to drive there instead as a short trip for me to relax my mind. I have too many relatives living in the republic as my father has 3 brothers and all their families there. We are all very close since our young days but lost touch after getting married with careers to handle. Besides that, we also have many school mates and personal friends that could number over 50 in this Lion City. I could never find time to meet them all and I had to often slip into the island very quietly. I was caught once by a cousin, while I was eating at a restaurant in Woodlands. I never guessed that he would be eating there when he grabbed me by the collar. I apologised 1000 times for not contacting him and promptly visited him on the following visit.
I always disliked my own Facebook due to these reasons of having little or no privacy. I would treat it as a good way to reach everyone from all over the world like how I have kept in touch with very old friends from US, South Korea and Japan. I was cheeky and posted one photo into my FB to announce my visit to Singapore and received a barrage of nasty ticking from my cousins who all wanted to have a meal with me! Oh dear, I will have to shut down my 2 FB accounts soon and keep this blog.
This was taken at the Inter Continenal Hotel where my wife had her all day meeting.
I followed her uncle who played a good host and took me out for a simple breakfast nearby!
He took me to The Fairmont Hotel where he holds their Club Membership Card. I love the cosy interior decorations and aromatic smell of their PREGO's kitchen. It was not a simple breakfast but a heavy one!
Here we have so many Banglas serving in our KL's eateries while they have so many good looking Pinoys working there. They could speak good and polite English! Plus points given!
The breakfast buffet spread was very fantastic but I did not take all the photos as usual. We ate like 4-5 rounds and chatted for over 3 hours. I was so FULL and my tummy wanted to burst out all the glasses of juices and heavenly yoghurt mixes.
The yummy International food was plenty and displayed in very long bars
from the door to the other end.
It was my first visit to see the whole complete spread of European delights.
We ended up drinking 2-3 rounds of thick black roasted coffee and Cappucino.
I had to skip my lunch and tea time until dinner.
I will visit Prego again someday!
.....
Good evening TM...
ReplyDeleteGood Evening Zumba Queen! The weather is nice today. Cloudy and drizzled lightly.
DeleteHope you enjoy your stay in Singapore
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed myself and the trip was TOO SHORT.
DeleteOn my next trip again, I will bring Thambee along to your house to eat dinner. Please cook and bake all your delicious food.
Sobssssss and sulk in a corner, no chance to see TM in person.... Sobssssss...
ReplyDeleteThis tagline, sounds familiar? Wink wink...
DeleteSharon, you're so funny! LOL
DeleteLina, act cute, lol...
DeleteMuahahahaha
DeleteThis Zumba Queen always tickled my ribs! She better get casted by Jack Neo to become an actress!
The intercontinental hotel photo looks familiar, hee hee, I also went there to take photos recently, nice hotel
ReplyDeleteThis hotel has got a wonderful location that is connected and next to so much convenience!!
Deletewah, that is a nice trip to SG to unwind yourself.. i guess if your wife is not going to SG for the meeting, you won't be following, and if you are not following, then you will still be hibernating without this new post!!! glad to see you back again, now you can say i am slacking in blogging with less than 10 posts in a month!! muahahahaha~~
ReplyDeleteSG is such an expensive place to go, i would really avoid this place, though can still get food below S$3 but then if we do the currency conversion then everything will be so expensive for us dei.. nice lah, Anay got free hotel stay and also relatives to bring you around to savor the best breakfast in SG for free..
Deletevery true also.. sometimes if you have got too many friends and relatives in a place you visit, better do it in stealth mode.. if you visit one, then the other will not be happy.. and if you want to visit all, then you surely have no time to do so.. so the best is, if you would consider, hold one party and invite everyone on FB before you leave home for the place!!! once for all, and as if you are the big shot!! well, you actually are one.. :p
Deletefor sure Thambee has not been to this Prego before lah.. his breakfasts are either included with the hotel or he eats at the food stalls under the apartments.. so lucky Anay was brought to this place, Thambee will also stay for hours in there and have rounds and rounds of food - eat breakfast like a king, that's what i always believe..
Deletebut looks like Anay did not have much food also.. i think must be his died-already-also-still-moving-mouth cannot stop talking with his uncle that he had no time for food!! next time Anay must bring Thambee there, while Anay is busy chatting, Thambee will help Anay to eat the food.. OMG, look at the spread, even the Auntie in the photo had a hard time deciding what to take~~
DeleteYou are so damn funny Thambee! I have to go somewhere to find inspirations to blog. Oh well, I should blog about my new place (old house)
DeleteWhen I was busy stuffing my face and eating like a glutton, I was thinking of YOU and no one else. I was sure that you would love all the buffet spreads that were tastefully prepared by the world class chefs. Oh yes, I forgot to mention that it was like over $100 Sing dollars for 2 persons who walk in.
You have not been to Prego because there is none in Malaysia but you have eaten in so many posh and well heeled dining rooms! lucky Thambee!
Whenever I visited Penang, it was easier to round up my gang by telling them that I would be having coffee at Starbucks E-Gate after dinner and they would all arrive with their families. In Singapore and Bangkok, I cannot apply this idea to the snobs and egoistic.
Great breakfast~
ReplyDeleteYeah. Try it boy. You will love it.
DeleteGood morning bloggers.. I have not updated my blog for more than a month too, and I've been reminded about that too.. Shall make an effort to update my blog soonest as possible.. Right now, I'm not in the mood to do it, you guys shall know why later :)
ReplyDeleteYou are very sweet and nice to accompany wifey to her meeting in Singapore.. How nice if my hubby does that too.. But because there are kids to takecare of, I think this would not happen for a long long time.. Haiz...
You ate 4-5 rounds of breakfast and skipped lunch and tea.. Aiyoyo, if me, I'd just skip lunch, and go attack the high-tea, hehe.. Even if too full, no harm to go see-see-look-look what food for lunch and tea, since all already included in the hotel package?
Ok ok, now, I'm thinking how to write my next post, save in draft first, and finish it little by little everyday...
I guess our problem is that we have mood swings like the weather. People like SK and Small Kucing etc are so steady to update their blogs promptly and regularly.
DeleteThat day I ate too much and my tummy wanted to throw up so badly. So sinful to eat too much when so many people are hungry and dying on the boats.
welcome back to the blogging world anay !
ReplyDeleteWhat a grand welcome to usher me! Thank you!
Deleteguess it's not easy to sort through all your late mother's stuffs. Sure got a lot of memories.
ReplyDeleteYes the stuffs are plenty, so was the memories.
Deleteyou are damn popula la. No wonder everyone wanna meet you when you go singapore. Moreover not much time to meet up leh especially now everyone got married and have their own life to take care of .
ReplyDeleteAdui...kesian you.... kena kaboom from friends ah. Well...they meant good , i guess
I always had this headaches for Singapore and Bangkok visits. The whole trouble looms as my family has been close with all of them and my parents played good hosts to them during their young days. Their attendance and effort made to my mother's funeral really moved me.
DeleteYou and Letchumi's pic in FB darn handsome couple la.
ReplyDeleteWheeeeee!!! You pulling my legs again.
DeleteFairmont, sure atas
ReplyDeleteI really had no idea whether atas or bawah as I am not a frequent flyer to this republic like you. I was driven to their basement and took elevator up so I had no idea how Fairmont looked like.
DeleteWith so many relatives, you are bound to be spotted! Whoah! What a luxurious breakfast with so many choices to choose from. Like that might as well eat for lunch and dinner.
ReplyDeleteHaving too many relatives and too much food is a headache sometimes. I prefer moderation in life. The buffet spread was too good and I salute the Italian chefs. You would love it here with your brother.
DeleteYou're back, I don't have your FB, so don't know where you went, but I know you must busy with something else so don't have time to blog! Actually I know this's one of disadvantage in FB, no privacy sometimes people can track you by checking their newsfeed (so actually sometimes I like to post something on my FB I private it by clicking "only me" on the privacy column first, then change to "friends" after few days or few weeks) So unless those people really browse through your FB timeline constantly then only can found out. This's very useful, at lease it won't let those certain people to comment "you fly again?" this and that nonsense comments lo!
ReplyDeleteI almost wanna close my Facebook now. I bet you that bloggers get to read and see many photos here. I just posted one photo in my Facebook that stirred some shit. LOL Wakakakakaka
DeleteHi! Nice trip to Singapore. The hotel looks very fantastic. I think you enjoyed there very much. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOh..I just came back from singapore. Had a short holiday with my girl.
ReplyDeleteTM you are not alone someone is also feeling pretty guilty already for not updating fast enough. paiseh...
ReplyDeleteFor a moment thought you saw an unseen being with your 'afro' hair style at the Inter Conti hotel stairs case haha
ReplyDeleteNice place to have breakfast & 'lunch' together
ReplyDeleteGood to see your post. Hopefully your mother left a will so things will not take too long to settle. The food really looks good.
ReplyDeleteHaven't been to Sg for many years... my last visit was nearly 10 years ago
ReplyDeleteGlad you have a good time over here. If I am not wrong, Wenn was here too few day ago!
ReplyDeleteHello, Twilight Man! Here's another blogger who's been in semi-hibernation for dunno how long. I still try to post, but it's short and irregular. Anyway. Now I want that breakfast you had: good old English breakfast with beans on toast! :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy! It's been ages since I had my last buffet...
ReplyDeleteAnay, I try very to control my urge to share pictures in FB wall too. One of my gym buddies encouraged me to share pictures of my Bukit Larut race. He said this is your proud moment and you should share. I actually shared to my private chat group with my old friends only. Other than that, I keep everything low profile in FB. I prefer to share in my personal blog like you, Anay.
ReplyDeleteI won't close down my FB account la! So many things that I can kaypoh there.
DeleteTo be honest to you, I love buffet very much, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. That is why I enjoy so much when I was on cruise. Kekekek!
Just that, I will be very selective in my choice of food.
Love their display and design, so cool!
ReplyDeleteDeath does take its toll in more ways than one. Nice seeing some of the places you visited as I would never see otherwise.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back & hope you're healing well, Tan! I enjoy the pastas in Prego, but have never tried their breakfast. Did you have a good time in SG?
ReplyDeleteSorry to know your mom’s departed and hope things settle down for you soon... my FB too slowly losing the privacy to family and relatives exists. But your situation seems too difficult to come up :) I liked the staircase where u sat beneath.
ReplyDeleteHow are you? Thank you for dropping all the comments on my old posts. :)
ReplyDeleteHi there TM ^_^
ReplyDeleteCheers.. back to blogging now after long hiatus.. nice to be back here... ^_^
wow that's one great of mouthful breakfast you got there.. is it an Italian inspired breakfast or a Western?
ReplyDeleteNice to be back here TM... btw.. you can visit me on my personal blog here http://www.bluedreamer27.com/ ^_^ thanks and have a great day
ReplyDeleteLOL to your mentioning of bursting due to 4-5 rounds!! My goodness..that first round shown above is also very filling to me already... very rugi if I go for buffet.. I can only take very little bit of this and that only.. but will attack the desserts a lot more!! hahahaa...
ReplyDeletePlenty of good and yummy food. Like Claire said very rugi for me who can't stuff too much..haha
ReplyDeleteI saw crispy bacon!!
