I am posting again how I splurged on my recent binge eating
at vegan food outlets. While everyone is sharing about delicious steaks,
course dishes and high cholesterol desserts, I should move away sometimes
to promote some healthy lifestyle stuffs for a change. I will only share
the 3 top vegan outlets of my choice where I purchased many
Groupon vouchers to dine there.
I am not a healthy person at my age and should start paying
attention to my health & well being before it is too late.
I will never forget how my wifey threatened me several times that
she would STOP BREATHING & DIE RIGHT AWAY
if I do not take care of my own health.
Her crazee actions actually shocked me & woke me up too!
"...I Am What I Eat..."
1. This Organic Recipe is probably the largest vegan restaurant in KL
which is located in a very isolated part of Bandar Utama. Many
people are regulars there now while first timers could almost never
find it even with the GPS. It is at the bottom of the condo turned hotel
and you enter from the top level to take elevator to the bottom.
Funny yeah!
2. They have nice ambiance and decor that paints how a eco-green
place should look like. My dad loves its simplicity.
3. It is very spacious inside and could seat many tables of guests.
4. The pots of green and black iron lattice grills are the trend these days.
5. I always have to try their fruit tea anywhere as they have varied styles.
This refreshing fruity one gets 8 stars from me.
6. Stir fried 4 Heavenly Kings' vegetables.
Crunchy & Nice!
7. Thai Tom Yum soup.
8. Assam Fish Curry. Tasty!
9. The Honey Fried Chicken with sesame & barbeque sauce.
It was heavenly good like real chicken.
10. I could tear the "chicken meat" out and chew it like KFC!
11. Seeing is believing!
It looked like real chicken & tasted like one too.
12. That place was packed that night and the wait was long.
I walked over to their in-house mart that sells all the specials
and imported vegan's cooking ingredients.
I walked over to their in-house mart that sells all the specials
and imported vegan's cooking ingredients.
13. They have 2 neat rows of special food.
14. They also have special frozen ingredients besides all the organic
toiletries and personal grooming care products.
15. This Rice Crackers struck my eyes at RM4.15 and I bought
a few. It is very nice to dip these crackers into
kaya jams or salsa sauce!
16. They have more tables outside to cater for the big crowds.
It has been a popular place for many years now.

Fuiyo, anay went vegan.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I go to eat vegetarian every week. I feel less sinful in my mind.
DeleteVery good ambience...
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
Thank you & come again dude!
DeleteWahhhh Letchumi is one scary woman for resorting to death threats!!
ReplyDeleteI can see why this Organic Recipe is so well received, because they make their fake vegan meats feel and taste like real. But I would not like fake chicken or fish, no matter how real they make it seem to be. I would gladly go vegan or vegetarian on and off, but I would have vegetables, bean curds and mushrooms instead. Maybe I am partly influenced by being a Buddhist, I don't like the idea of fake meat, if you want to eat meat then just eat the real thing, don't lie to yourself by having the fake ones because the intention is still there.
This is a subjective matter for one who eats vegetarian.
DeleteI would say my wife is a vegan for health's sake as priority so it does not matter whether the restaurant cooks vegan's lamb chop or beef steaks. They have the rights to be creative in their culinary skills in making vegetables taste like meat. I want to see some chefs making all the meats taste like vegetables someday. The sun will rise from the West when it happens.
You should eat less meat and carbo since you have been harping on your gouts, fats and what nots. Good luck man.
I like this place, it looks great and healthy, I should take my sister there, she always look for healthy place like this.
ReplyDeleteThat would be nice and sweet of you to care for your sister! How lucky she is.
DeleteLooks very tasty! What is the name of this condo turned hotel place?
ReplyDeleteThere is no name of the condo/hotel except to look for their Organic Recipe's directional signs. Please see my reply to PH below. TQ!
Deletewah!!! STOP BREATHING & DIE RIGHT AWAY!!! this is how Letchumy is threatening Anay all the time.. and we can see this works on a loving husband, so now Anay goes vegan!! but Thambee is wondering, while Letchumy is away in the US for a few weeks, is he following the strict vegan diet?? or he secretly went to have his most favorite cheesy mutton curry with garlic naan, and then tell Letchumy that he just went dinner at this Organic Recipe~~ :p
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I would say she cares for me since I myself know that I live inside an unhealthy body full of toxins. She never insist that I must eat vegetarian meals. She just told me to take good care of my health and not neglect it. This advice is a BIG WORD when it says take care.........
DeleteThat's nice to eat garlic naan and roti kosong with any curry. I just cut down meat along the way and discovered the unknown about vegan's restaurants that serve creative food! That's why I am sharing here. I am not paid at all.
indeed a very nice place, and to show how vegan he is, Anay is also changing his blog layout to a green theme!! now Anay changes his layout more frequently than he changes his underwears dei, and especially Letchumy is away, Anay has no one to wash his underwears.. so he will turn his underwear inside out, and then front back, so that one underwear can last him 4 days!!!
ReplyDeleteWoiii now you shot me back about not changing underwears! I thought it only happens to Thambee lah... I have over 50 underwears, so no need to wash every month!
DeleteThambee like the fruit tea too, it looks more fruit than tea, hahaha!! Anay gives that 8 stars?? wow, must be a top recommendation.. so they have different kinds of fruit tea and you will need 10 visits to try them all?? that's interesting.. Thambee wonders if we can also make that at home??
ReplyDeleteYes I paid attention to all the different fruit teas served in different outlets. I learnt their tricks and would marry all the ingredients together to make them at home.
DeleteYou need honey, orange juice, 1 fruit-tea bag, sliced pears, orange, apple and pineapple.
Pour boiling water into the jar and drink!
You will see heavens!
all the dishes look so non-vegetarian but they are actually vegetarian dishes!! nowadays vegetarian dishes come in so many varieties and i guess this is to face the demand from different market sectors.. Thambee always thought a real vegan will not even want to touch the "vegetarian meats" but eat vegetables as-is, but time has changed and perceptions has changed, it seems like people are eating for health rather than for pure religious purposes like many did in the past..
ReplyDeleteMalaysia is just catching up in this healthy vegan's trend of eating. In Taiwan, it is so common to see trendy cafes serving vegan food with creative dishes. You are so right that health comes first for many of us, regardless of religions. Lately I bumped into several Americans who prefer vegan's food instead which took me by surprise.
DeleteNice place with good ambience. It's applaudable to go vegan but then do note that some vegetarian food also not that healthy. For example, the 'curry fish' sure contains coconut oil while the 'fried chicken' is oily and fry. In my opinion, the best is to eat steam stuffs, whether they are meat or vegetables. Anyway, the food all looks good.
ReplyDeleteThanks for pointing out to me that some vegetarian food is not that healthy with coconut oil inside curry fish!!!! Oh dear, who cooks curry with coconut oil instead of coconut milk? I heard that coconut oil is good for health. No?
DeleteFried chicken is not healthy too. So do you suggest that healthy food should all be boiled or steamed instead. This will see all the vegans restaurants closing shop.
You can go ahead to enjoy and continue eating your steak and raw food. I am not a vegan at all, just sharing some discovery only.
Nice place wor, environment also good.. Pssst, good for meeting girlfriends during the few bachelor weeks.. Nobody needs to know *wink*
ReplyDeleteNowadays, everyone talking and going for organic stuffs.. Even baby clothes and baby food.. I must say organic food is good, but I don't think baby needs organic clothes kua.. I was having a bad sore throat and flu last week, and my colleague bought me a bottle of organic honey, I must say it tasted a bit weird and not like our usual cheap (sweetened) honey bought from Aeon/Giant (wait, a bottle of normal honey not cheap also, RM20+).. But I must say the effects were good.. Drink 1 or 2 days, ok already.. Maybe if I'd bought normal RM20+ honey from Giant, the effects also same hor, kekekekeke..
But it's good to see organic and healthy food.. They taste just like our everyday-food, still good, very tasty.. I don't mind eating it everyday, but not cheap.. We have an organic shop nearby our favourite lunch makan place, everything is so expensive.. A packet of crackers RM20+, even ice cream RM5 per small teenie-weenie cup..
Oh no I would not wanna meet anyone these days. I would just glue to my TV programmes and munch all the snacks. I have had enough of social life in the past. Now better read blogs and lead a meaningful life.
DeleteI believe in this organic honey that cures many sickness and does wonders. I thought all honey are organic as it is not a plant at all. Funny lah they call it organic honey and baby's clothes. People are getting too extreme sometimes and would foot the bills for expensive organic stuffs. In fact several organic shops have closed down or struggling to stay afloat. The trend in our country is still picking up with small majority unlike in Taiwan where vegans and organic lifestyle is everywhere!
Good morning TM... A bit cloudy here... Wonder will it rain later... But still hot here...
ReplyDeleteGood evening Zumba Queen. It has been raining here lately and weather is cool. We need more rain so that we can supply to Singapore.
DeleteNice place, maybe we can have a blogger's gathering one of these day here...
ReplyDeleteYou can dream on for blogger's gathering here! The sun will rise from the West if you can gather all the busy bloggers to meet up. You will be lucky if you can meet just 2 fellas at once. I myself find it difficult to meet everyone as KL is very big compared to Singapore. Small Kucing is the best blogger who is free!!!
DeleteGood morning,
ReplyDeleteIf u ask me what to eat... I would prefer vegetarian dining anytime! but no fake meat if possible!..
I am trying to eat healthy and often too. I am not a vegetarian but I have started enjoying the creative food. I am paying more attention to my health.
Deletehah..hah,,TM, your wife is hilarious! I can tell she loves you very much. Where exactly in Bandar Utama is this place? I can't quite picture it from your description. I love vegetarian food too but could not convert because it is quite hard for me to find such food near my area or to cook it myself. And I feel hungry very fast without my proteins. I admit that I still love my chicken, pork and fish. So I opt for vegetarian diet on certain days when I can.
ReplyDeleteMy wife is very creative and scary sometimes! I will blog later on what she has turned me into... All of us should just watch our diet and reduce whatever that is not so healthy when age is catching up. Each day, I am closer to my own grave lah. Sobs!!
DeleteThis restaurant's address is - ORGANIC RECIPE, Jalan PJU 6a, Lebuh Bandar Utama, Kampung Sungai Kayu Ara, Petaling Jaya. Tel: 03-7729 0236..
When you drive along the stretch of Lebuh Bandar Utama with Centrepoint, McDonalds and Police Station on your left....you will reach a big traffic lights junction. Go across to the opposite as if heading to Tropicana directions but take the FIRST TURN on your left.... You can see the directional sign of ORGANIC RECIPE. Just a short distance will see that building on your right that looks like a condo below street level. Good luck!!
Thanks, TM! I think I have an idea where it is now :)
DeleteAnay, being a vegan once a while is good. Yannie will be a vegan in the Chinese Lunar Month of 9 for 9 days only.
ReplyDeleteI like that Anay taking papa Anay to enjoy good vegetarian and organic food at this beautiful place. I like Letchumy for taking serious of Anay's good heath.
I have been eating real vegetarian food frequently just to accompany my wife but I do feel my health has improved. Other days, she just follows me to dinner and lunch meals to eat the vegetables only, very easy. She does not insist that it has to be a vegetarian restaurant.
DeleteAs you know better how precious our parents are to us and I should appreciate whatever time I have left with my aged father. Getting old is such a sad part of one's journey. I hope that I won't be sickly when I get older. You are doing well in running!!! Go for it.
Love the ambiance out there... apt setting for the restaurant that serves fresh and organic dishes. `
ReplyDeleteOh yes I do love its ambiance which is trendy.
DeleteThere's a vegan coffee shop at Petaling Street called "Einstein Cafe". Arty-farty decor.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, i really like the relaxing ambiance
ReplyDeleteI think the dishes were great especially that chewy and soft chicken.. (oh I am also a big fan of KFC )
If you say Vegan.. does it mean Chicken and fish meat were allowed to be eaten?
It's Me Bluedreamer
nice ambience, but how about pricing? it must cost one an earth!
