Now it is time to move on and I will join the wagon to blog about food. I know it is not my style to share about what I eat, ate and eaten. It sounds so unlike me as I have been hopeless to brag about food.
Let me share how I became a great fan of fish head noodles. It was over a decade ago when I lived in Taman Desa and Woo Pin Fish Head Noodles opened their second branch there. I loved their noodles so much that I patronized their restaurant almost daily and became good friends with the son of the Lady Boss! This Kah Wei would always give me something special like jumping the long queues!!
Last weekend, I decided to head to their other branch at the Sri Petaling area after collecting my wife's racing bicycle which went for some fine tuning at a workshop in the vicinity. I have been hesitating to eat there after seeing so many bloggers sharing the variety of the delicious food haven. The parking was really horrendous and I knew that as my ex company is still there. I worked there for over 10 years and know the backlanes & cronies like the back of my hand.
I was thrilled to be back to Sri Petaling and thanks to their new multi storey car park!
I ordered this big bowl with fried fish and milky broth.
I always enjoyed chewing slowly and spitting out all the fish bones
while my wife waves white flag. She prefers the fish maw type.
We ordered a plate of crispy fried Bean Curd (Foo Chok)
This refreshing Umbra Fruit Juice was so heavenly to down after
drinking all the fishy broth! I love this very much and so were my
American friends.
That was just RM49.30 for the dinner of 2 persons.
Please tell me where I could find much better fish head
noodles. I am a fan and would drive for miles!
Thank you!

I love fish head noodles with milk. But I don't like eating fish head, so it will be a plus point when they have deep fried fish fillet. I will definitely go for that.
ReplyDeleteSometimes their fish heads stank like dead corpses. Must be selective of the Chefs sometimes.
DeleteI only like fish head curry n grilled fish cheek. Hihi
ReplyDeleteI want that umbra juice!!!
Yeah Yeah! I love Fish Head curry anytime!
DeleteSo you parked at the multi level car park. Good for you! Instead of double parking. Fish head noodles can be found at Damansara Kim.
ReplyDeleteYes, I will visit Sri Petaling more often and check out your foot prints. Thanks to the multi storey car park.
DeleteI have tried one outlet at Damansara Kim. 7/10 rating.
There is one more outlet next to Wan Shoon Coffee Shop which I have to check out.
The one beside Wan Shoon is Mr Fish! It is nice so I am looking forward to your review about it.
DeleteHee hee it is so unlike TM to share about food with a receipt at the end instead of sharing about spirits
ReplyDeleteI welcome more food posts in TM's blog as I love food!
Ha Ha... I looked so funny and cartoon to blog about food. However I have been eating since the day I was born. Why not?
DeleteDo post more of the food! So that next time I can go try try...
ReplyDeleteYeah I will try. I cannot beat your eating pace!! You break records. LOLOL
DeleteBut the price is quite high considering only both of you... Anyway as long as good then it's justified!
ReplyDeleteI realised it was high due to the quality fish I chose. I am more economical always.
DeleteGood morning TM... It rains but have stopped, now the weather is hot...
ReplyDeleteThank God. Nice weather and no haze.
DeletePls do share with us good and nice foods that you have eaten...
ReplyDeleteI am learning from you all.
DeleteI prefer fish meat to fish head...
ReplyDeleteThe Fish Heads have little meat and so expensive! Wonder why people eat them?? They even dig out the fish eyes and tongue to eat.... Bluek!!!
DeleteYou know what to do when i go KL, wink wink hint hint, does that sounds familiar, haha....
ReplyDeleteWhat? What? What? Why wink wink? You need to wash your eyes.
Delete"eat, ate and eaten"? That's very ME. :P
ReplyDeleteWah, garoupa fish head noodles. I always go for the regular variety.
I must also choose cheap fish next time.
DeleteThis place is very well-known for their fish head noodles. Wah, friends with the son of the lady boss means you get special treatment....and special ingredients? Hehe! :D Perhaps you may want to try the ones in Paramount Garden.
ReplyDeleteI think I got no special ingredients! Not fair.
DeleteI will find out this place at Paramount Garden. Thanks!
There is one in Damansara Kim (sorry can't remember the name) at a shophouse perpendicular to Super Tanker. Also Gou Lou in Damansara Utama which is a few doors away from OCBC Bank. Don't know if these are the best but they are good enough for me.
ReplyDeleteYes I have eaten at one outlet of the two available at Damansara Kim. Slightly different but nice.
DeleteNext will be Gou Lou. Thank you Madame Chef.
I also don't fancy the fish head as you said too many bones, prefer to order the fish paste instead.
ReplyDeleteI know I am weird to enjoy fishy boned ones! Wahahaha!
DeleteI was hooked to Taman Desa fish head noodles (FHN) too after my first try N years ago. If you don't mind traveling, there is a stall at WDS kopitiam (KIP Industrial Park, Bandar Sri Damansara)selling rather good FHN.
ReplyDeleteKIP is very near my home and office. I trust your taste, so I will check out. Thank you
DeleteHave you tried Sun Sun Lai in Puchong?
ReplyDeleteWow! This Puchong area is exciting with many fancy cafes and restaurants that are new to me. I will check out this Sun Sun Lai. Thank you.
DeleteI have been to the Tmn Desa branch a few times many many years ago....back then it was less than RM7 per bowl. It has been more than 2 years (or more) since I last patronized Sri Petaling branch, despite staying so near there.
ReplyDeleteI like fish head noodles minus the milk. Yummy.
ReplyDeleteHi! The noodle looks very delicious. Good dishes would make us happy. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteI have never tried umbra. I wonder if we have that in the Philippines, or I just never heard of it.
ReplyDeleteDinner for 2 is cheap there, and looks really good.
I super love umbra drink. I have yet to find the best fish head noodles too. The ones I've had are all lacking of something. I heard there is one in Damansara Perdana. Must try to go there someday but I've forgotten the name >_<
ReplyDeleteOh my, I'm now snacking on Taukee in front of my desktop! Can you believe it? I always tapao taukee from Old Town Coffee as my snacks instead of chips.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby would probably be eating that bowl of fish soup while I'm eyeing on that plate of taukee. Hahaha!
If ever I visit you there, you know where to bring me, ha,ha,ha. I do like noodles so wherever I go, it is always noodles that I eat to taste what is best in that area. Anyway, all the best to you and have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI think maybe it is worth for you to go to their original outlet in Cheras (not even sure if it is still there). These branches, they're probably only 70-80% of the original outlet.
