I was so angry and furious last week. My face looked like Angry Bird with smoke coming out of my feathers. Suddenly I remembered that I had posted over 10 postcards to many bloggers from Xi'an in China. That was Friday 2nd December when we walked a few kilometers in the cold weather from our hotel to the post office. Until today, I believe that no one has received. Aaarrrgggggh!!!
This the 3rd time all my postcards were either lost, misplaced, stolen or sunk in the Titanic Ship!! The first time in 2013 over 10 postcards were sent from Nanjing - China after arriving from Shanghai. I had time to kill while waiting to catch a bus to climb the Mount Jiuhuashan. We sat down and slowly wrote all the cards beside their big post office! Hilang! Lost in Bermuda Triangle! Niamah!
The second time happened in 2015 @ Manila and this has taught me a good lesson here. I was staying inside their swanky Makati hub and their postal services were unique. Customers would do their postal errands at the small "Postal Booths" inside the Greenbelt Shopping Mall. I posted all my 10 + cards at Booth A which never reached any of the bloggers till today!!!. Next day, my wife posted her own postcards at the Booth B beside that ill fated Booth A. All her postcards arrived her friends! That was the first time I saw independent postal booths offering such letter & parcel delivery services in Manila. Niamah!
The only countries which all my many postcards safely reached every single blogger were posted from Japan and Indonesia! We visited Japan many times and never encountered any problem besides their postal delivery is super fast! It took less than a week to reach Singapore and Malaysia. Banzai Japan!
We happily took some trouble to choose and buy the postcards before sitting down at Starbucks to write one by one with different personalized writing & greetings blah blah blah. I have checked with Small Kucing and SK. Both told me they have not received my postcards and must have "Gone With The Wind"... Adoooi! My heart is aching & bleeding now....
The bloggers whom I sent:
1. SK
2. Small Kucing
3. Marlina
4. Yannie
5. Angeline Chee
6. Reanaclaire
7. Wenn
8. Chris Au
9. Libby
10. Sharon Lim
11. Sheta
12. Hayley
13. Diane Teo
I found a China's website to file complaints about my lost postcards!
So I quickly poured out my anguish and woes.
I got an instant reply so fast!!
Niamah!
Have you ever encountered such postal nonsense like me?

It is the thought that counts so all your ten blogger friends would be very happy that you thought of them when you were on vacation in that faraway place in China. Another place where the postal services are very reliable is Taipei, Taiwan. The post cards I sent from there all reached their recipients in a timely manner.
ReplyDeleteI believe you that Taiwan is very reliable. They are clean, fast and efficient in everything they do. Gosh! I think I have sent postcards from Taipei to few bloggers once but I totally forgot about it.
DeleteAnay is very thoughtful and never fails to send postcards which I love...
ReplyDeleteNo postcard but thank you Anay for thinking of us. ^^
Thanks to my wife who always encouraged me to send post cards to friend and bloggers. We actually enjoyed sitting down with warm coffee during the cold winters and write the postcards. Those moments allowed me to think and cherish the good days we had with bloggers and friends. Now I got an idea to snap photos of my actual postcards before mailing them. Ha-Ha!
Deleteso pos 'layu' is not only in M'sia, but also in China....
ReplyDeleteI am not sure whether it only happens to me(?) My luck must be layu then. Wakakaka
DeleteHAHAHAHA... Chill bro~ I think next time just send an e-card will do! Confirm sampai one! :D
ReplyDeleteHow to send E-cards to bloggers? Teach me dei so that I can send to you too.
DeleteTM, don't sob, agree with Mun that it is the thought that counts, "received" your postcard inside our hearts :)
ReplyDeleteI ever sent something to Malaysia blogger from SG but I think the other party did not receive, really like you said, lost in Titanic Ship!
DeleteAt first I thought it was the Malaysian postmen didn't deliver but I realised that Singaporean bloggers also did not receive them always. That means I should point fingers at them. Tsk! Tsk!
DeleteThanks for the thoughts, appreciated...
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome!
DeleteI hope it's just a delay.
ReplyDeleteIt is way too long to be a delay. Anyway I do believe in miracles too.
DeleteAnd I thought Malaysia was bad. XD
ReplyDeleteWe are bad but they are teruk. Sad lah!
DeleteTM, I am trying to imagine your Angry Bird face :D So now I know not to send postcards from China. If not, I also become Angry Bird.
ReplyDeleteHee hee heee... I know you won't send postcards to me! I never even received a cookie from you no matter how I begged.
DeleteI confirmed have not received because you did not sent to me, haaaahaaaa!! hope Pos Malaysia is reliable.
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny. LOL
DeleteTalking about Manila, I sent a registered mail and arrived my friend's place open, hah! The mail person probably suspect money inside. I could have place a scorpion to sting his eyes.
ReplyDeleteSo good for the thoughts but bad for the service. Next time, just messenger greets or take a photo of the postcards and send them via viber or line.
Next time I will register every postcard from Manila and overseas! Wakakaka
DeleteAnd I thought PosLaju was the worst
ReplyDeleteI still have high hopes with our postal system.
DeleteI can understand if parcels are lost in transitions, but postcards too? Wow! So far my parcels to many parts of the world were ok except for India & M'sia. Some never received, & some got their parcels torn with items missing. Lol!
ReplyDeleteI've never encountered any missing parcels sent within SG too. I'm glad all were accounted for so far. Better touch wood. Hahaha!
Singapore has very good postal system so nothing would be lost. I am still confused why such things happened to me.
DeleteOh dear....I can feel your anger...after painstakingly writing all the different postcards with personalised greetings.
ReplyDeleteOn your postcards from China not reaching....their postmen can't read English? Don't know where Malaysia is? As for your wife's postcards reaching but not yours.....bad handwriting?....wakakakakaka! :D
What a joker! My wife's handwriting is not as neat as mine so I blame it as my bad luck. Next time I should snap photos of the postcards and post them all into my blog. That saves my stamps and trouble to hunt for their post office. Nothing would be lost and guaranteed safe. Good idea??
DeleteWhat a joker indeed! Luckily for this joker, TM you got a good sense of humour like PH. :D Good for you!
DeleteOh dear, no wonder you said you looked like Angry Bird... surely I would too but with a sad face. After all the trouble.. but I want to tell you that I feel very happy seeing #6 in your post. Thank you for your thoughtfulness.. maybe it will arrive one day! :)
ReplyDeleteGood that you felt happy enough even without receiving it. Next time I will snap photo of all postcards and blog it. Wakakaka
DeleteWhen would I receive one from you, dear? :))
ReplyDeleteYou are a fugitive running all over Thailand. Do you have a permanent address for me? Ha ha ha
Deleteso many people say: who has the time to write/snail mail anymore? but it's not time that's ruining it, it's definitely the lack of conscientiousness with postal service staff!!! maybe the world is becoming lazier and they're only buying their time until they're wiped off the face of the earth, too. lol. i've lost so much mail going from kl to places in the states (like new york), i just think, why bother?
ReplyDeletesorry you lost all your postcards. pretty insane that not even one made it.
I am actually lazy to send postcards as it requires so much patience to hunt for postcards, write them all and hunt for post office. Their cards and postages are more expensive than Malaysia but my wife told me not to be so calculative as it is the thought that counts. Adoi...
DeleteI wonder if it is Pos Malaysia problem, or the problem with the countries of origin where you posted. I ordered a couple of books online 2 months ago, but the seller from UK used normal mail. The seller said the packaged dispatched 6 weeks ago, but until now nothing arrived yet. Niamah!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was the Malaysian post office that threw away my postcards. When I heard that the cards never arrived Singapore 3 times, I knew who to blame.
DeleteSo nice to see my name in the list TM =)
ReplyDeleteVery nice of you of remembering your blogger friends while traveling ;)
I can understand how you feel man.... Actually angry not just because of the money spent, it was the 'sam yi' which got 'wasted'!
yeah lo. So geram over time wasted. Next time I will post your postcards into my blog for all to see. Muahahaha
DeleteDont get angry, I am sure all your friends appreciate your kind thoughts of them even while travelling! Wishing you and family a Happy and Healthy Chinese New Year.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words and wishes. Wishing you a Happy Chinese New Year too. Happy Holidays.
DeleteLoL. I read this post oso can feel the fire burning, smoke coming out from your head.
ReplyDeleteI know how frustrating it can be but there is nothing much you can do right now. Terpaksa chill la otherwise you'll grow old faster.
Ha Ha I must relax and not let my wrinkles multiply. I forgot about it until it suddenly came into my thoughts.
DeleteFuiyph...Rooster year. Anay turn into angry birds.
ReplyDeleteVomit blood la with their postal service. Thanks for sending .
Lol...adui......
Last pic really makes me wanna scold all 4 letters words jor
What to do? Once bitten twice shy. Now it is thrice bitten, surely die.
DeleteNever mind... Thank you TM from my heart.
ReplyDeleteKinda late here reading your post...Many more to read.. Busy with works then CNY then work again...
