Early Morning Exercise

It has been many donkey years that I never woke up at sunrise to venture outside for exercise. This morning my wifey dragged me out to follow her. She always go running up and down the whole Bukit Kiara Hills nearby home at the crack of the dawn. I would still be in my slumber land of no return. Now all the big recreation parks and hill treks are closed for the lockdown MCO 3.0.

We went to a mini park which is in the middle of a square lined with bungalow homes. I used to bring my nephews to play basketball.

Awww... I spotted 2 brothers chatting with each other after some exercise. They woke up earlier than me!! 5.00am?

All gyms are closed now. These iron bars should be better than nothing.

I saw a man twisting himself like a mangled crab. He is my friend and over 70 years old! Wow! He was the one who roped me into DAP to help YB Lim Lip Eng during the GE13. Gone with the winds.

I started brisk walks around the park and passed this interesting tall tree. Look at the roots! There are big bungalow houses behind it.

This tree definitely has lots of spirits resting inside. Come back at night and ask for Magnum 4D numbers.

Another tree hangs a message.

Ouch! These are painful pebbles which I never saw anyone using it. Suitable for torture camps.

I ran 4 big rounds until my legs cramped. My stomach was growling for toilet. I caught up with my wife. She was doing her Wushu's Fan Movement after her Tai Chi and Sabre Sword Fighting. This scary woman drew much attention to all sleepy joggers to run faraway! Muahahahaha

Will I wake up at sunrise again tomorrow??

  1. Haha I am not so much a morning person too. Usually I prefer to wake up naturally without setting the alarm, not so much a problem as my work starts in the afternoon until night time.

    1. Great minds think and live alike. There is no fix time to be born or to die. So we should wake up naturally la. High 5.

  2. Good that your wife managed to get you to go to the mini neighbourhood park to exercise. You will feel better and not so down if you exercise according to the experts! Cos exercising release a happy happy chemicals. Says this expert: "endorphins, dopamine, adrenaline and endocannabinoid -- these are all brain chemicals associated with feeling happy, feeling confident, feeling capable, feeling less anxiety and stress and even less physical pain," McGonigal says." So fingers crossed you will exercise early morning in this mini park every day from now onwards.

    1. Wow! So many bombastic words endorphins, dopamine, adrenaline and endocannabinoid! I only know adrenaline. I agree that we need to exercise otherwise I would turn depressed like a moron. I plan to sit MRT train from Sg Buloh all the way to Kajang and repeat without getting off the train. That would be fun! So far I always walked after dinner around my neighbourhood and it helps me to sleep better and faster.

  3. It's good to exercise. I do take walks around my neighbourhood for that purpose...but not insanely early like 5am lah...probably more towards 7am+. I'm not an early riser (like you) too.

Why would the joggers run away? They would be in awe looking at the gracefulness of your wife doing her routines. If I were to exercise at the dedicated park near my home, I sometimes bump into these ladies doing tai chi and sword fighting exercises too and I would stop and watch.

    1. Good to hear that you do some walking exercise too. Only crazy people wakes up at dawn to exercise. My dreams are too good and need to finish them before waking up lah.

The joggers ran away because the sabre is so huge and scary when she swings it and prance like a monkey in attack. So far nobody uses sabre in this neighbourhood. Only Tai Chi folks live here. They do enjoy watching this HKG Wushu Gold Medalist in action with her Fan and Tai Chi.

  5. Tai Jing, Qing Gong and Yoga are all very good exercises which promote health and longevity, it is a pity I do not have such flexibility and patience like your wifey.

    1. It is true that one needs extreme patience to learn this. My wife had poor health and chronic asthma since young. This exercise has healed her a lot with stronger immunity. I never imagined she would enter the Wushu Championship in Hong Kong to win gold medals.

  12. Wow, what a nice park you have around your neighbourhood. BTW, I like that man's yoga pose. I can twist better than him. I would like to step on those pebbles with my bare foot. It's the best foot massage.
