The Nasi Kandar Terbaik in My Neighbourhood

So many new businesses have happened and developed unexpectedly during this pandemic. Just like unexpected white mushrooms appeared after a heavy downpour.

Recently, I met up with a neighbourhood friend who has a Thai wife. His tastes for food is very trustworthy and he had never failed me with good recommendations. He told me that there was a daily makeshift stall right behind my office. They sell authentic Malay styled nasi kandar in front of the famous TTDI Starbucks. He observed that they were quite a newly set up and enjoyed long queues of faithful customers under the hot scorching sun at noon. So he was curious and went to buy 2 packets to bring home. He SWORE to me that it was superb since his fussy Thai also approved that the curries were very rich and tasty.

The greedy me, on hearing this, went to queue up the next day! The line was long and I stood there for some 30 minutes!

Remember that the name is Nasi Anak Tanjung - Original Nasi Kandar Langgaq. I bought one packet of yellow rice with beef, 2 pieces Okra, ikan bilis and egg.

Next door was selling the Pure Mango Juice. It was such a hot day and this icy cold juice was very tempting. So I bought a cup just in case the curry was too spicy.

Look at my lunch! The curry beef was so fragrant with rich spices and very tender meat. Yums! The okra, ikan bilis and yellow rice was fragrantly cooked. It costs me only RM7.00! I SWORE that it is the best Nasi Kandar in my whole neighbourhood and PJ!!.... Next day, I went to buy again but 2 packets. One was for my wife and I got her fried chicken with her rice. She ate too fast for me to snap photos. Her verdict: She SWORE that the nasi kandar was better than all the 3 curry shops overlooking this Nasi Anak Tanjung. Wooohooo!! Calling Phong Hong to order via GrabTM.

This is the refreshing Pure Mango juice that costs me only RM5 which included cut pieces of sweet mango flesh. An ideal drink after the nasi kandar. Burp! I will be back again and again.

    1. I hope they will be a permanently stall there. They seem to rotate the daily dishes. I have seen curry beef always but not curry chicken which my friend said was fantabulous!

    1. Thank you and that's a kind compliment for a non foodie blogger. My words are so limited to describe my tongue. Wakakakaka GrabTM is free for my readers! Quick!

What happened to my 2 posts? The comments were a bit threatening and far fetched that might instigate cyberbullies to bring troubles.

    4. Haiya, who were these instigators/trouble makers leaving threatening and far fetched comments that made you have to delete the posts and make me miss out on reading some good 'stories' from you? Hope I didn't miss any good ghost stories! If I were you, and after spending time and effort to write the posts, I wouldn't delete it...I would just delete the unwelcomed/unwanted comments (and let your other readers have the privy to enjoy reading your 2 posts)...lol! :D

    6. I wrote my message to the writer of this blog but some other busybody chose to reply (as I had expected as she's the type of person who must have the last say). So, in a way, she's 'instigating' me to reply to her...and so I shall fulfill her 'silent wish'! I've kept quiet all this while (about our indifference) but she chose to open the can of worms...and so be it!

First of all, don't put words into my mouth to say I will have more stories to enjoy if TM ends up like neelofa (I don't even know what the 2 posts were about since I didn't get to read it). But from your reference to her, I'm assuming the post is about breaking SOP protocol.

Choosing to write about a certain topic is TM's perogative, after all this is his blog. He probably wouldn't have deleted them if not because of threatening and far fetched comments left behind. When you say I'm narrow minded (perhaps I am), that personality described you just as well too. So, in your opinion, one cannot be a bigger and better person if one has not seen both sides of the world. Well, in that sense, I'm glad I'm not a bigger and better person (than TM) coz I certainly wouldn't want to see ghosts! >.<

Yes, I confess that I banned you (and only you) from my blog because I find you to be a rude person and do not wish to read your rude comments. And yes, I was banned from suituapui's blog too and I remember you commenting to me then that he thinks I'm rude and deleted all my comments. Well, aren't you the pot calling the kettle black? As he has done the same to you now...meaning he thinks you're just as rude. Look at the woman in the mirror to count how many blogs you've been banned from (apart from his and mine)!

Hmmm, I can't seem to recall the incidences of me laughing at people and being laughed at. :P If you think I'm rude, why continue to read my blog and leave rude comments (which I choose not to publish) when you know you're no longer welcome. Just quietly go away lah!

Unfortunately, I'm in la la land between 12 midnight to 6 am as I have a life and have better things to do than surf blogs to read at that hour. Peace. Everyone should follow SOP...as much as she or he can or as much as the situation allows.

P/S: TM, I know it's not right for me to rant on your blog and I apologise sincerely...but she makes my 'blood boil' with her comments (I'm sure that's her 'twisted' intention), so I had to set it straight. Out of respect for you and your blog, this will be my last comment on this matter here and I will not be drawn in further to reply her next comment (which I know she will pen as she must always have the last say). I'll let her win and have her last say...prove me wrong. Peace out!

So you can send Derek dahling to this spot. Enjoy bro!
