The Charms of Kumamoto Castle

We visited the beautiful Kumamoto Castle this morning by taking the JR fast train from Fukuoka to Kumamoto. I enjoyed the lovely walk across the neat and clean roads that were lined with pretty Sakura trees and Japanese landscapes.

The weather was cold and it was perfect to enjoy long walks in Spring.

Even bridal couples love to visit this castle to have their wedding photographs taken. When we got married, we also wore traditional Japanese wedding costumes like them. I was told by few psychics that I lived in Japan during my past life.

This is just a sneak preview and I will post many photos of this lovely castle when I return home to Malaysia. Japan has over 38 famous castles all over the country.

  1. You've seen one, you've seen them all. They're all the same...or similar. I saw one like that, can remember where in Japan, dunno if it's the same one. When we got there, the wind was so strong that it blew the stones helter-skelter - one hit my face, it was so painful! Like a catapult shot. I remember buying barbecue-grilled corn on the cob from an old man in the vicinity - it was not nice...not the sweet corn variety that we have here.

    1. muahaha!! LMAO after reading this comment!! err, sounds like sour grapes?? surprisingly the Food Mayor of Sibu can find minute differences in every single bowl of kampua noodles but why sees all places (where he doesn't find food he fancies) as similar or identical?? so unbelievable dei, haha!! probably that's the difference between a proclaimed foodie in Sibu and a dust-like unknown blogger who is more open to new things and diversity?? haha.. so where can the best corn be found?? in which part of Sibu?? hehe, so cute lah this STP's comment :p

    2. Commented by an ex-teacher. Tsk tsk.

I guess we don't need to learn history or even respect cultures then. All the same story one. Someone fought. Some died.

  7. yeah, I would agree with Anay that the first impression I had when being in Japan was that they have very clean and neat street!! unlike seeing litter all around as in our bolehland, I didn't find any over there on the street and hardly see a garbage bin too!! I guess the Japanese bring home their litter and dispose off accordingly to the categories..

    1. and yes, I love to see sakura!! those sakura looks very beautiful in the photo, but probably that is not the best place to see sakura?? I've always seen photos showing a whole stretch of sakura trees all covered with the blooms and nothing else, ahhh, I hope one day I would be there to enjoy the beautiful view.. and lately I also realized we have our very local version of sakura along the roads too!! looks almost as nice, and I googled up, they are actually the pink trumpet flowers.. :)

    2. the Kumamoto Castle looks like the Osaka Castle I went last December dei!! I think there must be some linking stories behind these two castles, worth googling up their history and background and facts.. or you will be posting all these in your future post when you are back home?? :)
